When leaves start to change colours, temperatures drop and you start to take out jumpers and coats, you know Halloween is just around the corner! Halloween is actually a very old celebration – the nonreligious holiday has existed for many years. Its name has roots in the Christian holiday of Allhallows, better known as All Saints’ Eve, and refers to the evening before All Saints’ Day (All Hallow’s Eve). It marks the beginning of the three-day observance of Allhallowtide, the time dedicated to remembering the dead, including saints (hallows), and those who rest (more or less peacefully) in the afterworld.
Today, Halloween is traditionally celebrated by wearing scary costumes, decorating with creepy pumpkins and going trick or treating. But it’s also the season of scary movies – and the perfect moment to introduce our streaming platform ScreamStream to you.
We asked our Digital Marketing Specialist Daria to tell us more about the portal.
HI, DARIA! WHAT MAKES SCREAMSTREAM SO SPECIAL, ESPECIALLY DURING HALLOWEEN SEASON?
Horror movies and Halloween go together like peanut butter and jelly (unless you’re allergic). ScreamStream embraces all things horror – your journey begins as soon as you enter the portal. Like any engaging platform, ScreamStream lets you take complete control of your experience: are you in the mood for something scary, creepy or unsettling, or just want to watch something thrilling? Once you take your pick, you will be only one click away from an entertaining movie night.
WHO AND WHICH MARKET IS THE TARGET GROUP FOR SCREAMSTREAM?
Currently, we are exclusively targeting the US Market. We believe that one is never too old to enjoy a horror flick, which also explains why our leading age demographic is between 45–60. When targeting specific interest groups, our aim is to reach cult horror fans who are looking for a new source of thrilling entertainment. Recently, we have also seen promising results when promoting our content towards more casual viewers.
WHAT ARE AT THE MOMENT THE TOP 3 SCREAMSTREAM CONTENT TIPS?
1. Don’t be afraid to try something new!
2. When in doubt, consider revisiting an old classic! (The Blob, Evil Dead)
3. Sometimes horror is the best comedy! (Sharknado)
However you like to spend these days: – with scary movies, cozy sofa weekends, fun party nights or long relaxing autumn walks – let’s enjoy this special season! Happy Halloween!
