Great talent is hard to find. As CLIQ is growing constantly, we face the daily challenge of finding new colleagues who could be the perfect fit for our dynamic work environment and who want to grow with us. In this interview with our HR Advisor Gisèle Moüsquer, we want to shine some light on our recruitment strategies and hiring values. She is a woman of many talents – as well as her many years of experience as an HR consultant, Gisèle worked as an intercultural communication trainer and coach and has a background as a consultant on leadership development in several companies.
1. WHAT DOES CLIQ PAY PARTICULAR ATTENTION TO WHEN IT COMES TO HIRING?
When it comes to hiring, I pay attention to fulfilling the requirements of the role and looking for candidates with the right skills. Of course, I look at CVs first. I check the candidates’ experience as well as studies of the candidate. But that’s not all! There’s more to a candidate than just their hard skills. Soft skills are just as important to us and identifying these in potential new hires is another vital step in our hiring process. Personal chats and meetings help us find out if we really “click” with the candidates.
2. HOW DO WE ENSURE DIVERSITY IN NEW EMPLOYEES?
We truly see the value of diversity in all aspects at CLIQ. It is very important to us to give equal opportunities to all candidates. While we are aware that biases are hard to avoid, we constantly keep them in mind and strive to take steps to weed out bias.
3. WHAT ARE THE CHALLENGES AND OPPORTUNITIES OF HIRING TALENT IN 2022?
Many companies at the moment are struggling to find the right talent. One opportunity we spotted and are using is to give opportunities to candidates all over the world, rather than just the countries in which CLIQ operates. This way, we can also ensure greater cultural diversity in our company. Currently, we have 37 different nationalities in our company – something I am personally very proud of due to my professional background. I get so much joy from interacting with all the different people at our offices.
4. WHAT, IF ANYTHING, IS CLIQ DOING DIFFERENTLY FROM OTHER COMPANIES WHEN IT COMES TO HIRING?
In my opinion, what we do differently from many other companies is hiring a very multicultural workforce and having a Human Resources department that is prepared to understand the differences between cultures. We strive to create an intercultural synergy inside the company that enables us to not only hire but also to keep talents. So, even though we come from different backgrounds with different experiences, we meet each other on a highly professional and open-minded level and work together as one big team, across all offices, departments, and teams. I think this is one of the biggest achievements of CLIQ’s company culture.
5. WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO SOMEONE WHO WANTS TO APPLY TO CLIQ?
We always say: just do it! We are always looking for new talent; it doesn’t matter where you come from, what your sexuality is or how old you are. Have passion for and fun in what you are doing – together we can reach the next level!
