Across industries, businesses are using AI to improve customer experiences, make smarter decisions, and streamline operations. But how exactly is AI shaping the future at CLIQ? We sat down with our Technology Director Henri de Mooij for this article to learn more.

Artificial Intelligence has quickly shifted from an emerging trend to a foundational tool for companies everywhere. For CLIQ, leveraging AI means staying on top of data insights and using them to make quick and effective decisions, keep up with industry changes, and, consequently, stay ahead of the curve.

Henri: “AI and machine learning already have a huge impact on how CLIQ operates. Our media-buying systems’ algorithms are powered by machine learning, enabling us to optimise campaigns with precision and efficiency. In our software development processes, most of our developers rely on Copilot to streamline code writing and improve productivity.

AI also plays a crucial role in recruitment by helping organise and select CVs from job applicants, ensuring we identify the best talent quickly. On the content side, AI greatly assists with curation and enrichment, enabling us to deliver tailored and engaging experiences to our users.

Our BI department is also actively incorporating AI/ML to forecast profitability and make data-driven decisions with greater accuracy. And let’s not forget the day-to-day: many of our colleagues use tools like ChatGPT to automate tedious or labour-intensive tasks. This allows them to focus on more creative and strategic work.”

What do you think the future of AI will bring for CLIQ?

Henri: “While the current buzz around AI may feel like a bubble, there’s no denying it’s one of the greatest technological advancements of the last century. Jobs, including those at CLIQ, will inevitably evolve as AI continues to integrate into our workflows. The competition will intensify as the rest of the market also embraces AI, transforming search engine algorithms and, consequently, search engine marketing.

We’re likely to see the rise of automatically generated unique websites competing for traffic with human-made content. On the (streaming) content side, AI will enable the creation of richer, more immersive experiences at a lower cost, significantly improving the user experience. In tech, both our back-end and front-end development processes will become even more efficient, accelerating our ability to innovate.

In BI, AI will enhance our capacity to predict profitability and proactively detect fraudulent activity, giving us a competitive edge in safeguarding our business.”

One thing to keep in mind: AI is powerful, but it’s not the whole story. The best results come from blending AI capabilities with human knowledge and creativity.
