In this article, we’re introducing Dominic, who supports our Cloud system, ICT & Security team as an intern. Originally from the Netherlands, Dominic brings a passion for Cyber Security and a hands-on approach to problem-solving. Let’s hear what he has to say about his time at CLIQ.

Hi Dominic! What made you choose CLIQ as a company for your internship?

CLIQ has a great location, close to many stores and easily accessible by public transportation. Additionally, CLIQ has a strong reputation at my school when it comes to internships, which made it an obvious choice for me.

How does your daily internship life look like?

When people in the company have technical issues with their laptops, I’m there to troubleshoot and help solve the problems. Besides that, I manage Microsoft accounts in the admin environment. This includes tasks like email sharing and creating new Microsoft accounts.

What’s one skill or lesson you’ve learned during your time here?

A key lesson I’ve learned is how important it is to stay patient and structured when solving technical problems. You often need to follow a step-by-step approach to figure out what’s going wrong and how to fix it effectively.

How has the experience at CLIQ helped shape your personal career goals?

Working here has given me a better understanding of IT support in a professional environment. It confirmed my interest in Cyber Security and showed me how crucial IT administration is for a company’s daily operations. This experience has definitely strengthened my motivation to continue in this field.

What advice would you give to someone starting their first internship?

Don’t be afraid to ask questions and ask for help when needed. Everyone knows that you’re here to learn, and people are happy to support you. Also, try to be proactive — if you see something you can help with, take the initiative!
